Morning, all!
Emily Jones, the legendary Ranger on field reporter that saddled Mike Napoli with “I Feel Like a Woman” and “I’m Too Sexy” for his walkup music and may or may not have caused him to go gutless that night, will only be working 20 Ranger games this season. She’s wanting to spend more time with her children after 18 years as part of the Ranger broadcast team. The new Ranger Sports Network has announced that Laura Stickells, lately the dugout reporter for the Red Sox’s AAA affiliate, will be picking up the slack.
Elvis Andrus will also be joining the broadcast team as an occasional pre- and post-game analyst.
Andrus got some advice on broadcasting from Barry Larkin, who told him not to forget how hard it is to play baseball.
The Rangers are saying their not yet finished signing broadcast deals.
Josh Jung takes pride in his autograph penmanship because he wants kids to realize as soon as possible that they accidentally had Josh Jung sign their baseball instead of Josh Smith.
MLB Pipeline has anointed Jack Leiter the Rangers’ top prospect outside of the top 100.
