Bruce Bochy addressed Corey Seager’s performance after the Texas Rangers snapped their six-game losing streak on Sunday.
Rangers’ Bruce Bochy Comments On His Star Breaking Out
The Rangers have struggled in recent action. However, Texas snapped a six-game losing streak on Sunday with a 6-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins. Between injuries and underperformance, the Rangers desperately needed a quality victory, which they accomplished against the Twins.
Manager Bruce Bochy was asked about Rangers star shortstop Corey Seager, who hit two home runs Sunday, after the game.
“He’s been locked in,” Bochy said of Seager. “It’s fun to watch great hitters get in the zone. He’s certainly there now, getting some great swings off. Not missing his pitches and we needed it. He’s done this on this road trip, we just couldn’t add on. Today we added on.”
Seager is one of the best players in the entire sport when healthy. Texas unquestionably needs Seager’s production. The Rangers are now 25-29 in 2024, which is good for second place in the American League West. However, the defending champions hope to climb back over the .500 mark soon.

Corey Seager’s 2024 Season With Rangers
Seager, 30, is slashing .254/347/.416/.764 in 2024. He has also hit nine home runs across 48 games played. Seager has been especially impressive over his past five games. The veteran is hitting .350 with seven hits, five home runs, seven RBI, and six runs scored during that span.
It would not be surprising to see Seager remain scorching hot at the plate moving forward. As Bochy said, Seager appears “locked in” now. When a player of Seager’s ability gets locked in, that is bad news for opposing pitching rotations.
Corey Seager and the Rangers will attempt to carry their newfound momentum into their next series against the Arizona Diamondbacks at home. However, they will enjoy an off day on Monday before returning to action on Tuesday in Texas.
