The Rangers made one last roster move right before Saturday’s game
Prior to Saturday’s game against the Anaheim Angels, the Texas Rangers placed pitcher Josh Sborz on the 15 day injured list with right shoulder fatigue. To take his place on the active roster, the Rangers recalled pitcher Walter Pennington from AAA Round Rock.
Yeah, I don’t really know what to say about this. I guess they weren’t going to send Sborz out there again, and so decided to getting Pennington back up in case they needed an extra arm over the weekend. Pennington joins Kirby Yates, David Robertson, Jose Leclerc, Andrew Chafin, Dane Dunning, Daniel Robert, Marc Church, Matt Festa, Gerson Garabito, and Jerry Mathers as the Beaver in a somewhat crowded bullpen.
Hopefully they won’t all be needed in the finale.
