Round Rock falls in their season opener
Round Rock’s opener was a 6-1 loss to the Tacoma Rainiers.
Caleb Boushley, part of the clutch of relievers waiting for someone to slip up in the majors, got the start and allowed 2 runs in 3.2 IP, stirking out two, walking one and giving up a bomb. Emiliano Teodo threw 1.1 scoreless innings, with a pair of hits, a walk and a K. Hunter Strickland struck out two in a scoreless inning. Daniel Robert struck out one in a scoreless inning.
Evan Carter led off and was 0 for 4 with a K and a walk, though he had exit velocities of 101.6, 93.4 and 73.8 on his outs, and two of those were much better than what he had been showing in camp. Jonathan Ornelas was 2 for 4. Cody Freeman had a hit and a pair of walks. Justin Foscue had a hit and a walk. Blaine Crim had a double.
