Would you vote for Carlos Gonzalez for the Baseball Hall of Fame?
The Baseball Writers Association of America has released the ballot for the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame voting, so let’s do polls on the players on the list.
First up is outfielder Carlos Gonzalez.
Carlos Gonzalez was originally signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks as an international free agent in 2002. In December of 2007 he was traded to the Oakland A’s as part of the eight player deal that sent Dan Haren to Arizona. Eleven months later, he was traded to the Colorado Rockies as part of the package that sent Matt Holliday to Oakland.
From 2009 through 2018 Gonzalez was a fixture in the Rockies lineup. He won three Gold Gloves, was named to three All Star teams, won two Silver Slugger awards, and was third in the MVP voting in 2010. A free agent after the 2018 season, Gonzalez played for the Guardians and the Cubs in 2019. He signed with the Seattle Mariners for 2020, but was released in July at the end of summer camp, and retired thereafter.
Gonzalez has a career .285/.343/.500 slash line and a career 24.4 bWAR.
So, if you were a Hall of Fame voter this year, would you vote for Carlos Gonzalez?
