The Yankees have reportedly agreed to terms with free agent first baseman Paul Goldschmidt
The New York Yankees and free agent first baseman Paul Goldschmidt have agreed to terms on a one year, $12.5 million deal, per reports.
Goldschmidt, 37, has spent his entire career in the National League prior to this, coming up with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2011 and playing for them until he was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals after the 2018 season, where he has spent the last seven seasons.
Goldschmidt had the worst year of his career in 2024, slashing .245/.302/.414 in 154 games while putting up a 1.3 bWAR on the year. Goldschmidt has had a borderline Hall of Fame career, however, and was the National League MVP in 2022, when he slashed .317/.404/.578.
