The Rangers have made roster moves ahead of the final series of the season
The Texas Rangers have activated infielder/outfielder Ezequiel Duran from the paternity list today, the team announced, and have recalled pitchers Marc Church and Daniel Robert from AAA Round Rock. To make room on the active roster for those three, the Rangers have optioned outfielder Sandro Fabian and pitchers Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker to AAA Round Rock.
Ezequiel Duran is back and is the father of a new baby, which is awesome. The Rangers are also keeping Matt Duffy, who came up to replace Duran in his absence, with Sandro Fabian being the odd position player out instead.
Meanwhile, Leiter and Rocker will not be pitching again this season, and so they go down to get a couple of arms up for the bullpen. Robert was up briefly earlier this year, allowing two runs in 4.2 IP over three appearances. In 43 innings over 35 appearances for Round Rock this year he put up a 2.70 ERA with 52 Ks against 13 walks. Church is up for the first time, having missed about three months of the season with a shoulder problem. He put up a 3.22 ERA in 22 innings over 17 appearances for Round Rock, with 24 Ks against 7 walks.
