The Cowboys received a beatdown from the Bayou as the Saints invaded Dallas, running an offensive system that seems to be taking over the NFL like wildfire. This placed quarterback Dak Prescott and the offense in catch-up mode from the word go. According to NFL.com, the Saints had a 94% chance of winning the game with :31 seconds remaining in the second quarter. Years after being at the forefront of revolutionary football methods, Dallas clearly looked archaic in their approach.
As the team continues to look for ingenuity and continuity on offense, the Cowboys defense didn’t look anything like the unit fielded in the regular season opener in Cleveland. In fact, it serves as a stark reminder a consistent and effective run game is the key to defeating Dallas, and until they correct the issue, the season will have more losers than winners.
