The New Orleans Saints or Baltimore Ravens may pursue Carolina Panthers cut candidate wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. this upcoming season. According to a report, one NFL Analyst believes the Panthers are moving on from him since he isn’t gaining any traction with them. This season is a “make or break” type year for Marshall but it may be wise to either trade or release him before this upcoming season so they could get something in return for what he’s worth. However, he does show some potential to be a third or fourth-receiver option for any team that needs an extra wideout but that hasn’t been translating on the field.
The LSU product could find itself going on the shelf since the Panthers have been active this offseason with new wide receiver additions. Adam Thielen, Diontae Johnson and Xavier Legette are the next three core receivers which leaves Marshall on the outside waiting for the right opportunity. He may get a chance this preseason but no one should expect him to do anything special since he’ll be fighting for a roster spot. Marshall started just 16 games over three seasons with the Panthers where his most productive season was in 2022, notching 28 passes for 490 yards.
The Saints could use an extra receiver like Marshall even though he isn’t perfect. They may have Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and a somewhat promising A.T. Perry but no one who could be reliable. Marshall would be nice for depth to keep the wideouts rotating to see what’s working for Derek Carr who’s on the hot seat. However, the Ravens are still looking to add to their receiving corps since they’re bringing in Anthony Miller so one more wouldn’t hurt to help incoming wideout Nelson Agholor.

Next Possible Teams
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers may need a new set of working hands after the team has been busy this offseason adding numerous wideouts. DJ Chark doesn’t sound like a good replacement for Mike Williams and Keenan Allen if the team has any playoff aspirations in the next few years. However, they do have Ladd McConkey who is already showing promise at practice that he could be a reliable weapon in the future. Jim Harbaugh’s team needs results now and they can’t count on a rookie to bring that in immediately being that they have Quentin Johnston and Josh Palmer on the same roster.
Johnston has one of the most disappointing rookie campaigns so they might as well bring in Marshall to test the waters. The Chargers don’t have a singular receiver that’s reliable which is troubling for a top-5 quarterback like Justin Herbert who is always consistent. Marshall has some similarities to Williams so Harbaugh could bring some of those traits out of him.
Kansas City Chiefs
Rashee Rice will probably miss some games this upcoming season due to some off-field issues he’s dealing with. Marquise Brown is a clear upgrade from Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Xavier Worthy shows some characteristics similar to Tyreek Hill. However, the offense shouldn’t depend on a rookie and an incoming wideout so they might as well throw a fish in the pond and bring in Marshall. They may be bringing back Mecole Hardman in the mix but the likelihood of Kadarius Toney getting cut is high.
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys don’t have any urgency to sign CeeDee Lamb to an extension anytime soon, according to Jerry Jones. It seems like Dallas doesn’t have any desire to win this season but they can boost their chances if Lamb sits out with a Marshall signing. It would be a clear upgrade from Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin. The only receiver on their depth chart who seems to be promising is Brandin Cooks but he’s only getting older and he doesn’t have many years in the league.
