Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly dipping into the UFL to add more roster talent.
According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, All-UFL linebacker Willie Harvey Jr. plans to sign with Dallas after working out with the team last week.
Harvey led the spring league in tackles and was top amongst all UFL linebackers in tackles for loss, forced fumbles and passes defensed.
The 28-year-old previously appeared in four games for the Cleveland Browns from 2019-21 where he recorded a pair of tackles after going undrafted out of Iowa State following the 2018 college football season.
Harvey reportedly received interest from several other NFL teams but his meeting with the Cowboys is said to have went well and he’ll be signing with them once his UFL release is official.
Harvey joined the Battlehawks last year and quickly established himself as an impact player on St. Louis’ defense.
This isn’t the first time the Cowboys have looked to spring football to find players either. Over the past couple years, Dallas has signed speedy Pro Bowl return man/wide receiver KaVontae Turpin and first-team All-Pro kicker Brandon Aubrey.
The Jones family will hope to keep that streak going by adding Harvey to their already talented defense.
