The Denver Broncos could trade defensive end John Franklin Myers during the NFL Draft this offseason. According to a FOX Sports source, they say the Broncos might be open to trading Myers, as he’s entering the last year of his two-year contract while the team continues to rebuild. The future doesn’t look to be bright for Myers since he’s more of a rotational pass rusher instead of a starter, so it might be best for the Broncos to trade him before he becomes a free agent next offseason. Originally selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the former Stephen F. Austin product came into the Broncos in a trade from the New York Jets.
Myers might have lost his job since guys like Zach Allen and linebacker Nick Bonitto are putting up more numbers than him. They’re also entering the last year of their deals, but this will likely mean the Broncos will prioritize them over Myers. The defensive end began his career with the Los Angeles Rams, recording a strip sack against the New England Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady. The Broncos could try to sell Myers high in the draft, but these five teams could be willing to offer a late second day in exchange for the defensive end.

Potential Destinations
Baltimore Ravens
The 2025 offense for the Baltimore Ravens is in good shape again after signing DeAndre Hopkins to strengthen their chances. However, the team still has a questionable pass-rushing unit, and acquiring Yannick Ngakoue late in the season was evidence of that. Trenton Simpson and Broderick Washington haven’t been able to keep this defense afloat while Roquan Smith, Kyle Van Noy and Odafe Oweh are some of the most capable defenders in the league. Myers is another situational pass rusher, but he’s better than what the Ravens have.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints could use another pass rusher, despite signing Chase Young. After possibly losing Derek Carr for a year, the team might have to depend on their defense to win most of their ball games. Demario Davis is returning, but he hasn’t been the same, so he could use some insurance from Myers to open up the gates.
Los Angeles Chargers
The same can be said about the Los Angeles Chargers, who will likely have one of the worst pass rush defenses. Despite losing Poona Ford, the team did not do much to find a capable replacement. While they did re-sign Teair Tart, he isn’t ready to start full-time. Myers could easily be a better defender than De’Shawn Hand, who the Chargers are rolling the dice on, but he’s more of a journeyman.
Dallas Cowboys
For the Cowboys, there’s no such thing as too many pass rushers. They’ve been “passive aggressive” in getting a few defenders like Kenneth Murray Jr. and Jack Sanborn. Dante Fowler Jr. returning spells even better news, but they could use someone like Myers on a situational basis as Marshawn Kneeland slowly comes back to the mix after his disastrous injury.
Washington Commanders
Meanwhile, the Commanders are in the best position to win the Super Bowl one day. The defense still lacks a bit of structure, while the offense has been on fire. Despite signing Deatrich Wise Jr., the Commanders could try to trade for Myers to bolster the trenches unit to help alongside Dorance Armstrong.
