Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback turned CBS analyst Tony Romo is returning home on Sunday afternoon.
Romo will be on the call of Sunday afternoon’s Wild Card playoff game between the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers.
Dallas, the No. 3 seed in the NFC, is hosting the No. 6 seed, San Francisco, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday afternoon.
Romo will be on the call of the game on CBS, alongside Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson.
Jerry Jones is very excited to see Romo on Sunday.
It should be a family affair on Sunday afternoon. The Romos still live in Dallas, so the family should be in attendance on Sunday.
Romo is married to Candice Crawford, the sister of actor Chace Crawford. Romo met his now-wife when she was working in media.
The happy couple was married in 2011. They have three children together.
Romo admitted in an interview with Graham Bensinger that he kind of tricked his now-wife into going on a date with her.
The then-Cowboys quarterback had said that a lot of people were going to the movies together. But when Tony showed up to Candice’s house, everyone else had “canceled.”
The rest, of course, is history.
Candice isn’t surprised by Tony’s broadcasting success, either.
“When he was playing, after every game – win or lose – we’d invite everyone over to the house that was at the game with us and he would stand up in front of the TV and break down his game. I even got him a pointer because it was very serious,” she told For The Win. “He would analyze the game and break it down, so this was a natural transition.
“And as a quarterback you’re constantly having to predict what the defense is going to do, so when he’d break down the plays for us after his game, he’d say ‘I knew I had to change to this (play) because I saw this guy moving this way.’ So to do that on TV was just a really natural transition – and, for me, not much of a surprise because I’d seen him to do so much.”
The Romos should have a fun Sunday afternoon.
Kickoff between the Cowboys and 49ers is set for 4:30 p.m. E.T. on CBS.
