Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott faces an uncertain future right now.
He’s heading into the final year of his contract with the team and has yet to sign an extension. Both sides have been a bit slow to engage in discussions.
If it were up to ESPN’s Mike Greenberg, he’d tell Prescott not to discuss a new contract with the Cowboys. He thinks Prescott should play the season without a new deal.
“If I’m advising Dak Prescott, I wouldn’t even think of signing a contract this offseason. Play out the year and let the world come to my feet, and they will regardless of how he plays this season,” Greenberg said, via On3.
Right now, he appears to be following Greenberg’s advice since he hasn’t signed with the Cowboys but it’s unknown if that will last throughout the entire offseason.
Prescott had a stellar year in 2023, finishing with 4,516 yards through the air, 36 touchdowns, and only interceptions. He led the Cowboys back to the playoffs before they faltered in the wild-card round against the Green Bay Packers.
This could be an all-or-nothing year for the Cowboys if they don’t sign Prescott to an extension over the next few months.
