The Dallas Cowboys are apparently looking to add some depth to their wide receiver position.
According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, the Cowboys will host free agent wideout Zay Jones on a visit Wednesday. Jones spent the last two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“Jones has already met with the Titans and Cardinals. Several teams vying for the former 2nd-round pick,” Schultz tweeted.
Injuries limited Jones to only 34 receptions, 321 yards and two touchdowns in nine games in 2023. Two years ago, he set career-highs in catches (82) and receiving yards (823) in his first campaign with Jacksonville.
Originally a second-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2017, Jones spent two-and-a-half seasons in Buffalo before being traded to the Raiders in 2019.
For his career, he’s logged 287 receptions, 3,028 yards and 18 receiving touchdown in 104 regular season games. In the postseason, Jones has produced 20 catches for 238 yards and two touchdowns in four contests.
CeeDee Lamb is the established No. 1 in Dallas, with Brandin Cooks the team’s second wide receiver and 2022 sixth-round pick Jalen Tolbert likely getting first crack to be the third wideout.
Beyond that, the Cowboys have 2024 sixth-round pick Ryan Flournoy, 2023 seventh-rounder Jalen Brooks, holdover KaVontae Turpin and a slew of free agents battling for roster position following the release of Michael Gallup earlier this offseason.
