Former New York Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum believes one AFC West teams needs to do whatever it takes land Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
With Dak’s future in Dallas in question, Tannenbaum believes it’s time for the Las Vegas Raiders to step in and secure their franchise QB.
“If I’m [Raiders owner] Mark Davis … I have a countdown clock in my office and that plane is fueled and ready to go,” Tannenbaum said on ESPN. “And I’m giving Dak Prescott a blank check to go with Brock Bowers and Davante Adams.”
It’s worth asking that if Prescott is a “blank check” player why the Cowboys haven’t jumped at trying to lock him into his next contract as soon as possible.
There’s no doubt that Dak is a top-10 quarterback in the NFL production-wise, but his play has left a lot to be desired in some of his team’s biggest spots.
Paying good players great money tends to get clubs into hot water especially at the quarterback position.
With that said, the Raiders are in need of stability at signal-caller as Antonio Pierce attempts to lay the foundation of his program in Year 1 as Vegas’ full-time head coach.
Whether or not that means bringing Prescott to Sin City though remains to be seen.
