The Cowboys’ backs are officially against the wall. Standing at 3-4, third place in the NFC East and 13th place in the NFC in general, it’s do or die time for Dallas in Week 9.
The 5-3 Falcons couldn’t ask to be in a better position. Coming off a big win against Tampa Bay, Atlanta leads the NFC South. They are well on track for the postseason and have some of their most critical players surging at present time. They have the confidence to win, the talent to dominate, the momentum to roll, and the diversity of weapons to accomplish it all a number of different ways.
The Cowboys remain one of the league’s most injured teams. Critical players like Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence, Brandin Cooks, and DaRon Bland are all out. A calf injury threatens to keep Dallas’ other All Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs out as well. Based on this, the defense is going to have a hard time stopping the Atlanta defense. If there was ever a time to for the Cowboys offense to wake up, now is the time.
