As training camps kick off around the NFL, all 32 teams are finally springing into action to prepare for the 2024 season. Teams are allotted 90 players on their offseason roster, and thanks to a recent change in the rules and regulations, can carry that allotment all the way up until the deadline to declare their official 53-man rosters by 4:00 pm ET on August 27.
However not all players are at the same point of readiness to enroll in practice sessions. Injuries from the offseason, and in the case of a handful of Dallas Cowboys like Trevon Diggs from last year, linger and therefore require a special bit of handling. The NFL has a solution for that; designations to help teams manage their personnel as they recover.
