Earlier this week, a photo of Dak Prescott wearing a walking boot on his right foot surfaced on social media. Naturally, that sparked speculation about his status.
Thankfully, it didn’t take long for the NFL world to receive an update on Prescott’s injury.
According to Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News, Prescott is wearing a walking boot due to a foot sprain.
Prescott has reportedly been wearing this protective boot for a week. His injury isn’t considered serious.
It’s still unclear when or how Prescott suffered this injury. For what it’s worth, the Dallas Cowboys haven’t had an official practice since June 5.
The Cowboys will begin training camp on July 25. It’s probably too early to tell if Prescott will participate in the first day of practice.
Prescott is set to be a free agent after this season, so it’s imperative that he stays healthy.
Prior to learning about this injury, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said the Cowboys were “all in” on keeping Prescott. We doubt that has changed over an injury that’s not considered serious. However, it’s worth monitoring his foot sprain for at least the next month or so.
Prescott will probably face a plethora of questions about his injury next time he’s around the media. For now, he can rehab in silence.
