Dak Prescott is in a unique position entering the 2024 season.
The Dallas Cowboys quarterback has one year left on his contract before he hits free agency and has yet to sign a contract extension. Regardless, he’s not worried about that right now.
“I don’t play for money,” Prescott said. “I’ll leave that to the business people to say what it’s worth, what they’re supposed to give a quarterback of my play. It’s about controlling what I can control. Handle that part and everything else will take care of itself.”

Why has be been able to be so patient?

He also admitted that he’s going to leave the contract to his business people so he can focus on the upcoming season.
This will be Prescott’s ninth season with the Cowboys after finishing the 2023 season completing 69.5% of his passes for 4,516 yards through the air, 36 touchdowns, and only nine interceptions. He was a major reason why the Cowboys won the NFC East before losing to the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs.
Prescott is set to count for $55.4 million against the salary cap for this season before his current deal expires.
The Cowboys still have plenty of time to sign Prescott to an extension but they don’t appear to be in any sort of rush.
