CeeDee Lamb will make public appearances this week amid ongoing contract talks. However, the Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver doesn’t plan to discuss the process.
On Monday, Lamb revealed that he’s hosting three youth football camps in Texas. The first two take place on Tuesday and Wednesday at Round Rock and Richmond, respectively.
Cowboys blogger Brandon Loree shared a photo from Lamb’s Instagram announcement while speculating that Tuesday “could be the first time Lamb speaks about a potential contract situation” if media members attend the camp.
However, Lamb told reporters not to come with expectations of getting a scoop about contract conversations.
“I’m not speaking about any contract negotiations,” Lamb wrote. “If that’s your questions …
You’ll get 0 answers.
It’s about the kids.”
Lamb will play the upcoming season on a fully guaranteed $17.99 million fifth-year option, but the Cowboys have yet to lock him up beyond the 2024 campaign.
Last year, Lamb corraled an NFL-leading 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. He finished third in the Offensive Player of the Year voting while garnering a First-Team All-Pro distinction.
In the last three seasons, Lamb has tallied the league’s third-most catches (321) and fourth-most receiving yards (4,210). The 25-year-old has also witnessed many of his fellow star wideouts get handsomely paid, with Justin Jefferson most recently landing a four-year, $140 million extension.
Lamb is reportedly not expected to report to training camp later this month if he hasn’t signed a long-term deal. That could make his youth football camps the only time to directly ask him about a possible holdout before the Cowboys report on July 25, but the Pro Bowler made it clear he’s not there to talk business.
