Cowboys All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons is reportedly not in attendance for Tuesday’s OTAs.
Per longtime Dallas beat writer Clarence Hill Jr., a pair of the team’s biggest stars on both sides of the ball were absent. Although one of them was expected.
“Micah Parsons is not at Cowboys OTA practice today,” Hill shared, via social media. “CeeDee Lamb was never expected to show up until at least minicamp. But there was hope that Parsons would attend OTAs after skipping the offseason program as he did last year.”
Parsons is in line to land a lucrative, long-term contract with Dallas as he enters his fourth NFL season.
The Cowboys drafted the Penn State LB 10th overall back in 2021 and he’s quickly established himself as one of the league’s most dominant defensive players.
Parsons has finished top three in Defensive Player of the Year voting every year he’s played and recently set a new career-high in sacks with 14.
Dallas has already exercised Micah’s fifth-year option for 2025 but its more likely than not that he signs a new deal by the time that season kicks off.
Owner Jerry Jones has said that he’s “all-in” on his team this year — which after a pretty quiet free agency period means that he may be doubling down on the great players he already has in-house.
