Lunda Wells isn’t going anywhere.
It has been a quick order of business for newly-signed head coach Brian Schottenheimer in terms of assembling his coaching staff. With multiple coaching hires completed over the last few days, one of the big remaining questions marks was whether tight ends coach Lunda Wells would return to join Schottenheimer’s staff. Everyone can now feel relieved as Wells and the Cowboys have reached an extension for him to return in 2025.

Wells, one of the bright, young, and well-respected position coaches in the NFL was valued around the league according to multiple reports. After interviewing with the Chicago Bears earlier this week, the Cowboys retain one of their bright spots on the coaching staff in recent years.
It has yet to be reported exactly what Wells will be doing on Schottenheimer’s staff, as there have been some reports suggesting some kind of expanded role. At the end of the day, the Cowboys should be excited to have Wells back in whatever capacity.
