The odds are long for the Cowboys at Washington
The Dallas Cowboys have now lost five games in a row after the Monday Night Football game against the Houston Texans. The 34-10 loss followed a similar pattern to the previous week’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles where the Cowboys came out and looked competitive through a portion of the game, only to collapse and get blow out in the end.
The key for our purposes here is the blown out part. The Cowboys have ended up on the wrong side of some crushing losses where the final score doesn’t look very competitive. As such, there is very little belief in the team. That has carried over to the betting markets where Dallas has been the underdog in many games this season. Now they have reached a new level.
The opening odds for the Cowboys trip to play the Washington Commanders in Week 12 are out and Dallas are big underdogs. Double-digit underdogs, Our friends at FanDuel have the Cowboys as 10-point underdogs to their NFC East rival for this coming Sunday.
It’s hard to blame the betting houses for such large odds. The Commanders are an ascending team with many ex-Cowboys and rookie sensation Jayden Daniels at quarterback. The whole unit is guided by Dan Quinn who made the right decision to leave the Cowboys this time around for a head coaching gig.
Is there any way you would bet money on the Cowboys covering the 10-point spread?
