Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is reportedly dealing with bursitis and expected to be alright.
The Dallas Cowboys are in a bad way right now and any time they take the field things only seem to get worse for them. That appeared to be the case on Sunday afternoon when linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, one of this season’s brightest points, was injured and needed sideline assistance. Overshown, who missed his entire rookie season with a torn ACL, has really come along this season so him dealing with something significant would have been horrible news.
Thankfully Monday morning brought with it word that the injury is, in fact, not significant. According to Ian Rapoport, Overshown is dealing with bursitis.
#Cowboys LB DeMarvion Overshown, who left the game after landing on his knee, is dealing with bursitis in his right knee, source said. X-Rays were negative and he’ll have treatment and rehab. But does not appear to be a significant injury.

Rapoport specifically notes that the injury is not significant which is obviously great to see. There is no mention in the report as to whether or not Overshown will miss time, that will likely be something that the Cowboys figure out as the week goes along.
For what it is worth, Overshown has a bit longer than normal to get right as the team’s next game is on Monday Night Football against the Houston Texans. We will see what happens when Mike McCarthy and/or Jerry Jones speak as well as what the first injury report of the week brings.
