Cowboys rookies really stood out during Sunday’s win.
There is still plenty of disbelief over the game against the Washington Commanders. The game was a swirling mix of emotions and crazy plays that left jaws open on both sets of fans. In order for Dallas to get the win it took a lot of things to go right, but did the rookies help?
OT Tyler Guyton
The curious case of Tyler Guyton continues. Guyton left the field a number of times last week and each time was after he did something negative on the field. It’s true that Guyton has seen his struggles to is season but the odd strategy by the coaches to keep pulling him off the field and replacing him with Asim Richards is very strange. The rookie left tackle isn’t going to learn by continually sitting on the bench so this coaching staff need to decide what the exact plan is with Guyton before they really affect his development. The holding call was most definitely a poor call by the referees, but the offside call before the snap is not something you can defend with Guyton.
DE Marshawn Kneeland
After missing time Cowboys fans finally got to see the return of the second-round draft pick. Kneeland came in and played 19 defensive snaps. It was his first game back since Week 5 so the coaches eased Kneeland gently. He didn’t register any pressures or sacks and didn’t make any solo or assisted tackles.
C Cooper Beebe
Beebe had the narrative of needing snap practice if he wanted to center for Dallas this year. For the entire season snapping the ball had been solid from Beebe and there looked to be no problems. Then he sent two bad snaps in one game. Whether it was adrenaline or pressure, Beebe needs to work on this quickly and not let it ride into the rest of the season. Time to shake it off and get ready to be faultless against the New York Giants.
LB Marist Liufau
Liufau played 17 snaps on defense and made one tackle. He allowed one receptions for 13 yards in pass coverage. Generally a simple day for Liufau but did what he needed to and helped a defense that looked much improved last week:
CB Caelen Carson

WR Ryan Flournoy
Flournoy played ten snaps on offense against the Commanders. Four snaps he was used as an extra blocker and on the rest he ran routes. He made zero receptions and was targeted zero times. A quiet day for Flournoy.
T Nathan Thomas
Injured reserve
TE Brevyn Spann-Ford
Ford had two receptions, one an important catch to keep the chains moving in the third quarter that led to Jalen Tolbert scoring the teams first touchdown. Beyond that, Ford was an important player in the run game where he was extremely efficient in clearing the way for Rico Dowdle. He proved to be a vital piece against Washington in helping the ground game and getting Dowdle to 86 rush yards.
