The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers are top trade candidates for $64 million star wide receiver, Adam Thielen this upcoming season. According to a report, one source is bringing up the veteran trade rumors again which would involve the Eagles adding new talent behind DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown. This trade makes sense being that Philadelphia has been ensuring to keep their top two wideouts but no reliable slot No. 3 guy to replicate their performance. However, the Eagles have been making free-agent additions to ignite some competition which include Parris Campbell and John Ross but both of them have been failing to make an impression.
Thielen is still a productive receiver in the league after recording 103 catches for 1,014 yards on a terrible Panthers team that only won one game. Any team could bring him in for a relatively cheap price and the Eagles could keep him around for one more year and he’ll probably take a lesser deal since he’s getting older. Thielen spent the first nine seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and won two Pro Bowl nods while having 1,000-yard consecutive seasons. He was able to restore the Carolina offense after losing D.J. Moore a few seasons ago but now he has some competition this year with Diontae Johnson and rookie Xavier Legette.
In a recent interview came out that Thielen was trying to join the Chiefs before the Panthers were signing last offseason. However, he has a chance to join them considering they’re missing Marquise Brown due to injury and may not have Rashee Rice in the lineup due to legal troubles. The Chargers could be in the market and he would probably become the No. 1 receiver since Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer don’t look like they’ll be stepping up.

Other Potential Trade Fits
Baltimore Ravens
Just like the Eagles, the Ravens are looking for a reliable third guy to catch those passes in the slot. Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman are two solid starters that can focus on the deep threat which is why they’re bringing Nelson Agholor on a one-year deal. However, there could be some competition between him and Thielen since both of these receivers are getting older. It would help Lamar Jackson develop some new receivers and keep guys like Flowers intact so he doesn’t rely on him often or Mark Andrews.
Bateman shows some flashes but he hasn’t been able to stay healthy even though the Ravens still see something in him after extending his contract.
Dallas Cowboys
Jerry Jones and this organization continue to be “captain obvious” with how the season will turn out. Jones is back peddling on whether or not they want CeeDee Lamb to stick around so it might be safer to trade for a receiver to give Brandin Cooks some help. You’re not getting much from guys like Jalen Tolbert since he hasn’t been able to play one full season even though he shows potential. They need a new veteran who has playoff experience and Thielen wouldn’t be expensive.
He could be a good asset for three years eventually before he decides. Dallas needs new life behind Lamb since they don’t want to risk him carrying most of the catches again.
New Orleans Saints
There hasn’t been much talk about the Saints bringing in a new pass catcher for Derek Carr even if he is on the hot seat this season. They have no one besides Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed so this spells bad news for the entire offense and may be reliant on the run game. A.T. Perry shows some promise after his rookie year but no one should expect much from him. Thielen is no longer a Pro Bowler but the risk of getting creative to give Carr a fighting chance would be the right step in the direction of Dennis Allen’s offense.
