Ahead of the start of today’s big Texas-Oklahoma game, Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey was on the field at the Cotton Bowl wearing a cowboy hat. ESPN made sure to highlight his appearance whenever he was on screen.

“Having McConaughey on your side is a huge flex,” one user remarked.
“Matthew McConaughey at the Cotton Bowl? Get ready for some deep thoughts between touchdowns,” wrote another.
“ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT,” a third wrote, using McConaughey’s signature catchphrase.
McConaughey has made his presence known at numerous Longhorns games through the years, even appearing on College GameDay on occasion to represent his team.
The No. 1 Longhorns are in the middle of a surprisingly close game with the No. 18 Sooners. Oklahoma held the Longhorns scoreless in the first quarter, taking a 3-0 lead off two field goal attempts.
Texas entered the game as 14-point favorites and are the only remaining undefeated team in the SEC following Alabama’s stunning loss to Vanderbilt last week.
