Former Texas guard Tyrese Hunter has committed to Memphis, he announced Monday.
The former top-40 recruit out of Racine, Wisconsin, averaged 11.1 points, 4.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds on 45.2% shooting last season. He played his freshman year at Iowa State before transferring to Texas for the last two seasons.
Hunter is the fourth transfer to commit to Penny Hardaway and the Tigers. He joins former Illinois big man Dain Dainja, PJ Haggerty (Tulsa) and Colby Rogers (Wichita State). Memphis will also bring in the class of 2024 three-star Jared Harris out of Silsbee, Texas.
