After a dominant first quarter against UTSA that included two touchdown passes, Texas starting quarterback Quinn Ewers appears to be done for the day.
Early in the second quarter after completing a pass to Gunnar Helm, Ewers went down with what appeared to be a non-contact injury. He could only limp off the field as he was escorted to the Longhorns’ medical tent.
If his day is done, he finishes 14 of 16 for 185 yards and two touchdowns with one interception on just one-plus quarters of football.

Ewers’ loss is Arch Manning’s gain though and the former No. 1 overall prospect has quickly proven that he’s up to the task of managing Texas’ offense.
On his very first play he threw a pass to DeAndre Moore Jr. that he ran in for a touchdown. On the very next drive, Manning reeled of an incredible 67-yard run touchdown run that has had fans going wild.

Fans are already speculating that Manning’s performance today could cost Ewers his job:
“Congratulations to Quinn ewers in a good college career it was a good run buddy you aren’t getting your job back,” one user declared.
“Yeah…, Quinn Ewers ain’t getting his job back,” wrote another.
“Quinn Ewers job is gone,” a third wrote.
It would be a pretty rough way for Ewers’ college career to come to an end if head coach Steve Sarkisian does, in fact, keep Manning in the starting role even after he mends.
