The former Miami signee is the third-best uncommitted player in the 2025 recruiting class.
New Texas Longhorns head coach Sean Miller is working on adding to the 2025 recruiting class that currently includes consensus four-star center John Clark, hosting Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Sagemont Prep guard Matt Able for an official visit on Tuesday.
Recruiting News: Matt Able, the No. 30 overall prospect in the class of 2025, is on his last official to Texas today.
Since reopening Able has also taken officials to NC State and Stanford and unofficials to Tennessee and Alabama https://t.co/4q9rdtDLyw pic.twitter.com/cmq7pa7Qya

The 6’5, 190-pounder originally signed with Miami, but received his release when head coach Jim Larranaga unexpectedly retired earlier this year. Since reopening his recruitment, Able has taken official visits to NC State and Stanford. Alabama and Tennessee have hosted the consensus five-star prospect an unofficial trips.
So that’s likely the group of contenders for Able, known as a three-level scorer with a strong frame and a heartening level of defensive intensity.
Texas has added Xavier transfer Dailyn Swain on the wing, but missed on his former teammate Ryan Conwell, who committed to Louisville on a Tuesday visit.
Able is the No. 26 player nationally and the No. 6 shooting guard in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
