Let the rivalry smack-talk begin
Texas Longhorns football is encountering a lot of newness—for examples, a new league (the Southeastern Conference), as well as a new quarterback (as Arch Manning fills in for starter Quinn Ewers.) What isn’t new, however, is Texas’ gleeful hatred of the Oklahoma Sooners.
Oklahoma’s next up on the schedule, too.
Among those feeling especially confident heading into Texas’ rivalry week in Dallas is freshman edge rusher Colin Simmons, a former five-star recruit out of the same town.
Asked about how he expects the Texas football program to perform as he makes his trip to his home city, Simmons said, “Ooo wee. OU, OU, OU, OU. I mean, they’ve got a good squad this year. Lot of people on that team that I know. I feel like we’re going to dominate them.”

Simmons has logged four games for the Longhorns so far this year.
He’s recorded 11 total tackles—three of which were for a loss—and two sacks.
