A starter is now listed as probable.
The second of four injury reports set for release before Saturday afternoon’s game between the No. 1 Texas Longhorns and the Mississippi State Bulldogs at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Thursday night featured the additions of two players — senior Jack end Barryn Sorrell, who is listed as probable, and backup deep snapper Tate Haver, who is listed as doubtful.
Sorrell is a multi-year starter at Jack end and must have suffered some type of minor knock during practice on Thursday to land on the injury report. A 6’4, 260-pounder from New Orleans, Sorrell is credited by PFF with five tackles, two quarterback hits, and seven hurries.
The injury list also features some change in status — walk-on running back Colin Page was moved from questionable to out and sophomore safety Derek Williams was also downgraded from questionable to out, marking the second straight game he will miss with a hamstring injury, but sophomore running back Quintrevion Wisner and sophomore safety Jelani McDonald were both upgraded from questionable to probable.
Wisner missed last week’s game with an injury sustained away from the ball against UTSA and McDonald has missed the last two games with an ankle injury, although he did dress and go through warmups last week.
