Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian got the better of his former boss Nick Saban in their final meeting in Tuscaloosa, Alabama this past season. Now that Saban is set to join College GameDay, he has some thoughts on how Saban will perform.
Speaking at the SEC Spring Meetings, Sarkisian said that he enjoyed Saban’s analysis at the recent NFL Draft and has been impressed by what he’s heard about his preparations for the gig.
“I’ve spoken to him a little bit, I think he’s doing great,” Sarkisian said. “I thought his analysis for the NFL Draft was incredible. I’ve even had a chance to visit with a couple different NFL teams and coaches, and they even commented on some of the thoughts he had on different players.”
Ultimately, the Texas head coach believes Saban will be “great” on GameDay and will continue to be a great ambassador for college football. He believes that in this new role, he can have a really big impact.
“I think he’s gonna be great on GameDay and being an ambassador for our sport, and that’s something that he did at Alabama as the head coach and really when he was at LSU. And now he’s even got a bigger stage to I think, again, be an ambassador for college football and do it the right way.”
