Texas has shown that it’s for real through two games of the 2024 season.
After beating Colorado State to open the season, Texas traveled to Ann Arbor and crushed Michigan by 19, 31-12. It was tabbed as the “game of the week” last Saturday before Texas showed who the better team was.
In those two games quarterback Quinn Ewers has been a stud, throwing for 506 yards and six touchdowns.
He’s already started to generate some Heisman talk from the national media but Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian isn’t buying into it.
“He just doesn’t consume himself of what other people think,” Sarkisian said, via On3. “He’s more focused on what he needs to do to perform. He’s more focused on how he can support his teammates and be the best quarterback, leader, teammate that he can be.”
Ewers returned to Texas for another season in 2024 even though he could’ve declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. He felt he had something more to prove with this team and is trying to lead the Longhorns to a national title.
Up next for the Longhorns is a game against the UTSA Roadrunners at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday. ESPN will have the TV coverage for the fans.
