The Red River Rivalry is set to return this Saturday when Oklahoma takes on Texas.
It’ll be the first time that these two teams play each other as members of the SEC and it’s a game that means more than just bragging rights.
Texas comes into this game as the top team in the country with a perfect 5-0 record while Oklahoma is 4-1 and No. 18 overall. It’s the first time that Texas will play Oklahoma as the top team in the country since 1984.
Oklahoma beat Texas last year in a crazy back-and-forth affair by four, 34-30. The Longhorns will be looking for some revenge this season and if they get it, head coach Steve Sarkisian has promised to eat a Fletcher’s Corny Dog.
It’s one of the top foods that the State Fair of Texas has.
“I have not enjoyed a corny dog,” Sarkisian said, via On3. “I have not had a chance to partake in the State Fair but I know it’s a great time. Maybe if we win, I’ll try to find a corny dog or something.”
The Sooners have beaten the Longhorns in five of the last six times they’ve played each other.
Kickoff for Saturday’s contest will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
