Texas quarterback Arch Manning has had a chance to showcase his ability this season since Quinn Ewers has been banged up.
Manning has started the last two games since Ewers has been hurt and has been great, throwing for 583 yards and four touchdowns. Overall, he has played in four games this season, throwing for 901 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has loved what he’s seen from Manning and how Ewers and Manning benefit from being one and two on the depth chart.
“I think the rapport that he and Quinn have with one another has led to a lot of his success because I think he’s very coachable. he wants to learn, and he can learn from others,” Sarkisian said.
Ewers is expected to be ready for next week’s rivalry game against Oklahoma. The bye week this week allows Ewers to recover a bit more before coming back for that massive contest.
Texas is 5-0 overall after beating Mississippi State last Saturday and is No. 2 in the latest AP Top 25 poll.
Kickoff for this year’s edition of the Red River Rivalry will be at 3:30 p.m. ET. ABC will have national coverage of the game.
