Ahead of the NFL, Ewers continues to leave mark on NCAA
Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers is calling it quits in Austin. Ewers’ decision to try his luck in the NFL Draft later this year comes after a three-year stint on Texas’ campus that saw Ewers start under center each season.
In 2024 and this year, Ewers led Texas football to two College Football Playoff berths, both of which ended in the semifinals round (the 2023 CFP consisted of four teams; 2024, 12.)
To honor Ewers’ stellar career, as well as an instant classic performance of Ewers’ versus Arizona State in the CFP quarterfinals earlier this season, the Davey O’Brien Award has announced the departing Texas quarterback as a member of its first ever “Great 8” honor.
