The Horns head to Nashville hoping to bounce back from Saturday’s loss to the Bulldogs.
In the immediate wake of the 30-15 loss by the No. 1 Texas Longhorns to the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs, the SEC released the final television designations for next week’s game, setting kickoff in Nashville for the Longhorns against the Vanderbilt Commodores for 3:15 p.m. Central on Longhorn Network.
A 24-14 win over Ball State on Saturday moved Vanderbilt to 5-2 on the season, including the resounding win over Alabama two weeks ago.
It’s the 12th meeting between the two programs in a series that began in 1899 with Vanderbilt holding an 8-3-1 advantage, although the Commodores and Longhorns haven’t played since 1928, a 13-12 loss for a Texas team coached by Clyde Littlefield.
Texas is looking to bounce back from Saturday’s 30-15 loss to No. 5 Georgia in Austin, a game marred by turnovers and turnovers on downs as the Bulldogs whipped the offensive line of the Longhorns, sacking the Texas quarterbacks seven times.
