The Horns will head to College Station for the first time in 13 years as favorites.
Following the 31-14 win over the Kentucky Wildcats in Austin on Saturday, the No. 3 Texas Longhorns are 5.5-point favorites over the No. 15 Texas A&M Aggies on Sunday afternoon, according to FanDuel.
Texas A&M will enter next week’s Lone Star Showdown matchup with less momentum than Texas following its 43-41 road loss to Auburn in four overtimes, although a trip to the SEC Championship game will still be on the line thanks to the conference’s tiebreakers.
Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. Central on ABC as the rivalry game returns to primetime in the first matchup between the longtime rivals since 2011.
The game renews a rivalry that began in 1894 and features a 76-37-5 edge for Texas. The Longhorns emerged victorious from the last meeting, a 27-25 win by Texas that saw the Horns score 17 third-quarter points before the Aggies rallied for three field goals in the fourth quarter. With time expiring, Texas place kicker Justin Tucker connected from 40 yards in one of the most iconic moments of the late Mack Brown era.
