After Tuesday’s cancelation, the Horns have had to make more changes due to weather.
Even in Central Texas, the start to baseball seasons can be perilous due to winter weather and that’s been the case for the No. 16 Texas Longhorns following the cancelation of Tuesday’s home opener against the Houston Cougars and this weekend’s series against the Dartmouth Big Green at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
Head coach Jim Schlossnagle has been open this week about the potential need to move games or start times with cloudy weather and a high of 37 degrees forecast for Friday and rain chances on Saturday prior to a warming trend that should make Sunday’s game much more pleasant for players, coaches, and fans.
On Thursday, the school adjusted the start times of the Friday and Saturday games because of weather concerns — first pitch on Friday is now set for 1 p.m. Central with Saturday’s game now starting at noon Central. First pitch on Sunday remains set for noon Central, as well.
