The betting line keeps increasing expectations for the Longhorns.
After covering the spread in all three games so far this season, the No. 1 Texas Longhorns are favored by 45.5 points against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks for next Saturday’s game at 7:00 p.m. Central on ESPN+, according to FanDuel, a line released late on Sunday, perhaps because of the abdominal injury sustained by starting quarterback Quinn Ewers.
The two programs have met twice previously in 2009, a season-opening 59-20 win by the Longhorns, and in 2022, also in the season opener, a 52-10 win by Texas.
The line is higher than the margin of either of those games as the Warhawks travel to Austin with a 2-0 record and ranked as the No. 112 team nationally in this week’s SP+ rankings. Under first-year head coach Bryant Vincent, ULM opened the season with a 30-14 win over Jackson State and a 32-6 win over UAB before spending the weekend on a bye.
Texas beat UTSA in Austin on Saturday, 56-7, but may be without Ewers.
