Oklahoma and Texas are set to join the SEC for the next college football season and that means there will be more must-watch games each week in the conference.
For Texas in particular, the program will get to renew one of its top rivalries against Texas A&M. The two used to play each other when the latter was in the Big 12 before moving to the SEC.
Now that the Longhorns will be in the SEC, they’ll get to play the Aggies again and that has Aggies head coach Mike Elko wanting to play the Longhorns every year.
“We should play them. When you have two programs like that in same state two hours away they should play every year and it should mean a lot,” Elko told Brett McMurphy.

An annual game between the schools would help get the rivalry going and kickstart some more recruiting battles. The television views would also be through the roof.
The Aggies and Longhorns will play each other for the first time since 2011 this November in College Station. A kickoff time has yet to be announced.
