The ESPN draft analyst analyzes Texas’ Quinn Ewers
ESPN NFL draft and prospect analyst Mel Kiper is famous for his many top incoming rookie rankings each year. And right now, Kiper is especially high on Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Quinn Ewers, who’s under center in Austin for his third straight season.
In fact, an argument is made that Ewers could end up as the first quarterback to be selected, if not the first player overall, in next year’s NFL Draft. (Of course, that’s assuming if Ewers declares, which was widely anticipated of him after the 2023 season concluded.)
“In my opinion, right now, he’s got to be right there as the elite quarterback in this draft at QB1, with Carson Beck out of Georgia, Shedeur Sanders [at Colorado]… Cam Ward at Miami, Jalen Milroe from Alabama will be there to challenge,” Kiper said, as you’ll see in the clip below. “But I think you can make a strong case right now that Ewers is QB1 in this draft.”
