Plus: Vanderbilt is taking Texas seriously
Texas Longhorns women’s basketball standout Madison Booker landed on the Associated Press’ most recent preseason All-America team, the AP announced earlier this week.
From Texas Athletics: “Booker, who was voted Preseason Co-Player of the Year in the SEC by the media, is coming off a freshman season in which she earned WBCA First Team All-America honors and was selected the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year. [She] becomes the first player in Texas women’s basketball history to be named a Preseason AP All-American since the recognition started prior to the 1994-95 season. … Booker helped Texas win 33 games in the 2023-24 season, their most in a season since the 1985-86 season. Booker became the first freshman in the history of Big 12 women’s basketball to be named the Big 12 Player of the Year. Booker was also selected by the conference head coaches as the Big 12 Freshman of the Year and a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 First Team.”
