Plus: It’s payback time for Texas baseball
It sparks a tiny bit of joy in our hearts when we see a big guy wear a small guy’s number. In sophomore EDGE Colin Simmons case, he just went from a small guy’s number (No. 11) to an even smaller guy’s number (Simmons switched to No. 1 earlier this offseason.)
Why, you might ask? It’s simple, according to Simmons.
“I am the one,” he said, according to KXAN.
From KXAN:
“As a true freshman last season, Simmons racked up nine sacks, 14 tackles for loss with three forced fumbles and an interception. He was named the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year, an award given out since 2019 to the nation’s most outstanding freshman … [And] he was a first-team freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America and was the first Longhorn to notch more than 6.5 sacks in a season since Charles Omenihu did that in 2018.”
Perhaps Simmons has a point.
