Plus: The latest on Isaiah Bond’s recovery
Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian is tired of answering your quarterback room lessons. Not that he doesn’t like talking about the first-world problems the Longhorns have under center this season, but if backup quarterback Arch Manning, a redshirt freshman, will overtake starter Quinn Ewers, a redshirt junior, after the latter looked jittery after coming back from an injury earlier this season.
“I’m not even going to answer that,” Sarkisian said during a league conference call earlier this week, according to On3. “I don’t know what the question is. Next question.”
“When I was a starter I never wanted the backup coming in the game, even for a play,” Sarkisian reportedly continued. “And I remember my senior year of college, I had been banged up and coaches wanted to run a quarterback draw. And they called the play and I scored a touchdown. So I’ve got respect for a guy that’s a starting quarterback and the rhythm that is needed to play with, so no that’s not something I’ve ever entertained.”
Enough said.
