Plus: Texas WBB beats Maryland
Not even 24 hours since the last snap of the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff’s championship game, the Texas Longhorns hype ahead of the 2025 season has already begun. That includes several eyebrow-raising rankings, albeit way too early ones, that have Texas ranked at, or near, the top of most predictions. That includes On3, which has Texas ranked No. 1 — ahead of reigning national champions Ohio State and Big Ten rivals Oregon and Penn State. Meanwhile, CBS Sports and the Sports Network has Texas ranked No. 1. And Athlon Sports has Texas ranked No. 2, behind Ohio State, but ahead of Georgia and Notre Dame.
Let the fun begin, Texas fans.
