Plus: Texas men’s swimming adds Olympic star
The College Football Playoff committee’s inaugural ranking for the 2024 season landed the Texas Longhorns at No. 5. Among the talking heads, the topic of the day as a result has become whether or not Texas football’s CFP resume is weak after all. Former Alabama quarterback-turned-talking-head is seemingly leaning towards agreeing with just that.
“…Texas’ remaining schedule is Florida, at Arkansas and Kentucky,” McElroy said, according to On3. “They’re a heavy favorite in each of those three. None of those three right now are likely to finish the season above .500. So, if they were to win those, their best win right now is against Vandy and then you lose to A&M, your best win’s still Vandy. I don’t think that’s enough under any circumstance.”
