ESPN’s Laura Rutledge was working the sidelines for today’s big Red River Rivalry game between Oklahoma and Texas today, but her wardrobe emerged the worse for wear.
Taking to Instagram before the game, Rutledge “reported” that while working her way through the crowd at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, she somehow got a massive stain on her sleeveless vest that she couldn’t get all the way off.
The stain isn’t totally visible on camera, but it’s probably a lot more noticeable in person. How on earth she got that stain – and what it was – remains a bit of a mystery though.
“Alright guys, I just made it down here,” Rutledge said. “By the way, stain on my shirt walking through the crowd, but it’s the Red River Rivaly, you just gotta go for it.”

As for the Oklahoma-Texas game, it was competitive early but Texas ran away with it late. Oklahoma opened the scoring a field goal that made it a 3-0 game after the first quarter, but that would be it for the Sooners getting on the board in that game.
The Longhorns scored 34 unanswered points to win the game, 34-3. Quarterback Quinn Ewers was solid and efficient in his first game back after missing several weeks with an injury. He completed 20 of 29 passes for 199 yards and a touchdown, while adding another touchdown on the ground.
In all honesty, the game was so lopsided that the stain on Rutledge’s vest might wind up being more memorable than the action on the field.
