The Longhorns add another playmaking wide receiver to the 2025 recruiting class.
Head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns are off to a hot start in the 2024 season, and now they are beginning to heat up on the recruiting trail.
Consensus four-star Lucas Lovejoy wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon committed to Florida State back in the summer, but with how the season has been playing out for the Noles McCutcheon began weighing his options.
McCutcheon recently made an unofficial visit to Texas to take in the gameday atmosphere and on Thursday he made things official by flipping his commitment to the Longhorns.

McCutcheon is yet another talented, FBS-caliber wide receiver to come out of the Lovejoy program after it produced Power Four talents in LSU’s Kyle Parker and Texas’ Parker Livingstone in recent years. To say McCutcheon had a productive junior campaign would be severely understating it.

McCutcheon is ranked as the No. 14 wide receiver prospect in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking and as the 107th prospect overall by the same metrics.
McCutcheon is the third highly-rated wide out to commit to the Longhorns this cycle, as he joins five-star wide receivers Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench. Sarkisian and his offensive staff have one of, if not the top wide receiver hauls for the cycle and are setting themselves up to reload heading into 2025.
Texas sits at sixth overall in 247Sports’ composite team rankings just behind Georgia with 20 commitments.
